About the School

The ISF Academy is a K-12, not-for-profit, Private Independent School (PIS), based in Cyberport on Hong Kong Island. Founded in 2003, education at The ISF Academy is inspired by its three defining ideals: independent minds, Chinese virtues, global outlook. Chinese language and culture form the key components of its globally oriented curriculum, culminating in its fully authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in the Secondary School: the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Academic results and university matriculations place The ISF Academy in the top tier of schools globally. The ISF commitment to excellence is reflected in its formal recognition by noted international accrediting agencies: the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the Association for Experiential Education (AEE). At its heart, The ISF Academy is a learning community motivated by high academic expectations and committed to a unique set of core Chinese cultural values – the Eight Virtues + One.

Drawing on the best from China and the West, The ISF Academy seeks to educate students for life in the 21st century, nurturing global stewards who are globally aware problem-solvers, lateral thinkers and leaders of innovation, able to thrive amidst uncertainty and social change in a rapidly evolving world. A complete education demands a departure from linear thinking to embrace applied creativity, bold innovation, cultural and cognitive diversity, and experientially rich experimentation. The spirit of this approach to education is realized most completely through a unique set of highly challenging and innovative learning programs: the ISF Shuyuan and Hao Xue.
