About the School

Pui Kiu College is a "through-train" school operating both Primary Section and Secondary Section.  Our school embraces an international perspective and roots in the Chinese culture, providing students with broad learning experiences and encouraging them to explore the multi-faceted cultures of the world.  We aim at nurturing students to be proficient in both English and Chinese.  Our Secondary Section adopts English as the medium of instruction.

Our school endeavours to provide a flexible and diversified curriculum to cater for student needs.  With the accreditation from NCUK in 2016 for operating as a delivery partner for the International Foundation Year (IFY) Programme and the approval secured from EDB in 2017, our school has been offering the NCUK IFY Programme at Secondary 6 in addition to the local HKDSE curriculum since 2017. Students are required to take the English for Academic Purposes module and 3 elective modules according to the stream enrolled (Science / Engineering / Business / Arts) as well as our school-based Chinese and Citizenship & Social Development subjects.

Students who have successfully completed the one-year IFY Programme will be guaranteed access to one of the NCUK Universities (including 30 universities in UK, 14 universities in Australia / New Zealand and 4 universities in Canada / Caribbean / United States).

All our previous cohorts of IFY students have secured UK university places via UCAS.  By making use of the IFY qualification for application, some IFY students have been offered admission by prestigious universities [including Russell Group universities in UK, universities under Group of Eight Australian Universities and UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong (such as HKU, CUHK and HKUST)] and are able to secure places in competitive programmes.  In other words, the IFY Programme can offer students with pathways comparable with those of IB, GCE A-Level as well as the HKDSE.

* Information on each school profile is compiled by Education Bureau based on voluntary contributions by the schools and their return to the annual enrolment survey conducted by Education Bureau. Any enquiries should be addressed to the schools directly.
