About the School

German Swiss International School (GSIS) is a leading dual-language institution in Hong Kong that has offered through-train education from Kindergarten to Secondary since 1969. Delivering a unique multicultural experience, GSIS is steadfast in pursuing its educational goals, whilst continually evolving to meet the changing needs of 21st century learners.

Renowned for its academic excellence, GSIS operates as one school with two successful streams. A choice of a German or English curriculum-based education is offered where both lead to globally recognised diplomas – the German International Stream (GIS) delivering the German International Abitur (DIA) and the English International Stream (EIS) with the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) accreditation.

The German International Stream (GIS) is a bilingual education that provides students with access to a network of 135 German Schools Abroad to enjoy global opportunities. Open to all nationalities, no prior knowledge of German is required in certain age groups. Students can choose vocational training for real life experience or continue their studies at any university worldwide. German universities, specifically, provide a resident visa and tuition is offered gratuitously by the government.

The English International Stream (EIS) culminates in the IGCSE and IB Diploma where outstanding results are consistently delivered and ranked among the top globally. Students develop an understanding of the tools and strategies for successful learning, and the environment inspires them to discover their untapped potential. The aim is to instil a profound sense of joy and fulfilment by cultivating individual interests and passions across a wide array of subjects and activities such as the arts, sports, community service, and entrepreneurship.

With students hailing from countries around the world, GSIS celebrates cultural diversity and inclusivity as a viable and valuable component of school life. The House System fosters community spirit and promotes positive behaviour, and a variety of extracurricular activities are available outside the classroom.
